Railways around Shrewsbury
On the way up from Essex to see Ma in Ellesmere ,we called in at Sutton Bridge for the two mid-morning departures.Passing not the last mail-bag catching equipment in the country as stated by a very well known photographer and prolific book producer, 37427 passes the single line token drop post.

With the locos facing a 13 mile climb south from Shrewsbury ,several of them at 1 in 90 /100 , in theory ,given a clear road,it should have been possible to take three photographs of the same working. Drivers on the A49 often conspired to ensure this didn't happen ,but on this day everything went as planned.
